We wiped the floor with the English team. I almost felt sorry for them toward the end.

Yeah, it was pretty brutal towards the end there. The English team is always built up to seem to much better than they actually are in the media, you can't help but feel for them when they inevitably fail to live up to expectations.

England's worst ever world cup defeat. /0\

The press are being BRUTAL. Mostly it seems it is Capello's fault for being FOREIGN

Germany did good! *crosses fingers for Spain and The Netherlands*

Of course, have to find a scapegoat! Can't admit that the team simply is not that good. *sigh*

Ugh, that game was g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s. + kind of made up for the USA. So relieved they won.

Woo! Congrats! I hope this makes up for the USA yesterday! :)

(Haha, I think you are always root for opposite teams. Yesterday, I was thinking "Last African nation standing in South Africa! \o/" and today I was all "England why did you have to break my hear just like I knew you would??? :'(" So now I'm going to ask, how do you feel about Argentina?)

Thank you! It does quite a bit. :)

Hee, it's true, we do seem to be on opposite sides. To be fair, if the USA had to go out to someone, I was glad it was the last standing African team. I am not a fan of Argentina, but I also wouldn't say I hate them. I do love Messi. I'm mostly neutral leaning a bit toward Mexico because they're the last standing CONCACAF team. Er, CONCACAF being North/Central America and Caribbean.

I felt quite bad for Mexico after the illegal first goal, but I see once again, we are cheering on opposite sides. Who knew football could be so polarizing? ;) (Ok obviously, this is a well established fact.) I feel like there must be at least one team that we both have positive feelings about! How about Netherlands? I feel like after knowing [livejournal.com profile] aurora, I'm quite fond of them.

Yeah, Mexico had a rough time, but they were outplayed in the end. And, ha, you know how England likes to believe they have a rivalry with Germany that only English people actually consider a rivalry? Well, Germany HATE the Netherlands and that's really their only actual football rivalry. So, er, no, sorry! But I like a lot of the players on this squad.

Haha I think I have exhausted the teams that I have Positive Feelings about. Aside from a vague-not-even-really-there dislike of Brazil, I am completely neutral to the rest of teams. It would be interesting to see Japan as the only remaining Asian team progress but I'm not betting on it.

Oh well, at least we will always have GK! And, um, Torchwood? (That is where we first met yes? I can't even remember anymore.)

I am hoping for Japan to do well too. Represent Asia!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we met through Torchwood. Or possibly Verbotene Liebe! I can't remember. But in any case, we'll always have that!

The drama repelled me, ngl. But their heroic asskicking of England, and their embracing of my bb Turk, may yet win me over.

Oh, I completely forgot - I met someone who ran into Juergen Klinsmann on the beach in Fethiye! I thought of you. :)

Ah, I see. And they really seem to have left the drama behind them and refound their teamgeist, so there is not shame in liking them!

That is awesome! He was born in the same little town near Stuttgart where my family emigrated from.
